FLEX temp and V speeds are auto calculated. If everything is OK then we can proceed to PERF page. In blue we can see missed approach procedure. We verify the route by scrolling through it. We will try to land on RWY 16 in LOWW Our entry point to Vienna is VENEN so we must choose VENEN 2W arrival via NERDU 5L (NER5L). Now click LSK next to destination airport name (the green one). After clicking INSERT out route is almost ready on the FPL page. First input airway to left column and then intersection to the rigth. Then select AIRWAYS and start inserting your route. Scroll to the last waypoint in departure (in this case SULUS) and click LSK next to it's name. As you can see FPL page is now filled with departure procedure. Let me check this one more time with map ) We will stick to SULUS 6E. According to maps I use 6E is a better choice. Scroll through available departures with up/down arrows. We will be leaving Frankfurt TMA via SULUS. We will chose runway 07C for our take-off. We are flying with Fair Weather so QNH and wind is 1013 and 0/0 respectively. In this case block fuel value is 7.3 INIT B is filled. In our case it is /55.9 Block fuel value can be seen on upper ECAM and it need to be verified with fuel loader you used. Next we move to INIT B page by clicking on the rigth arrow. As a fiight number we input TEST001 Cost index will be 20 and cruise level F元10. Our fligth route is: SULUS UZ650 VEMUT UZ37 BUDEX UZ205 VENEN We start by inputing our departure and arrival airports: EDDF/LOWW Here we have keyboard input hotspot. We will, however use this time to fill left MCDU. Rigth MCDU informs us what we must do to proceed to next checklist. Any movement will require IRS to be initialized from scratch. During this time we cannot taxi or move the aircraft with SLEW mode. On the upper ECAM we recieve message that IRS is aligning and it will take 6 minutes. To properly initialize ADIRS we must click ALIGN IRS in left MCDU on INIT page. Without it we cannot fly! Without ADIRS alignment displays remain inactive. The ADIRS is responsible for monitoring aircraft movement and location. Here we have ADIRS also known as IRS in other aircraft. We set them to ARMED position with a left click. ![]() Emergency ligths are on the overhead panel. ECAM recall is a button we sometimes have to click twice or more to proceed in checklist. We must turn them on and click the first one to start the whole system. This is a very nice feature that I personally use in my every fligth. We will perform this fligth with automated checklists enabled. If you want you can select default state in the aircraft state menu on the rigth hand side by clicking LSK next to DEF. As you can see there is no brightness control, however it is actualy never needed in this model. To turn them on just click with the left mouse button. We start with both ECAMs then ND and PFD. We also switch External power and all the fuel pumps on. Now to do anything we need to turn on both batteries on the overhead panel. Then we have to wait for the aircraft to settle. To do so we must use Cold&Dark option in rigth MCDU under aircraft state menu. We'll begin our review by setting our aircraft in Cold & Dark state.
